PM Modi inaugurates 2 Vande Bharat trains in Mumbai
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said there is a revolution happening in the ralways and for the first time, two Vande Bharat trains were being flagged off simultaneously

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off two Vande Bharat express trains from Mumbai to Solapur and Shirdi and inaugurated two flyovers on the Santacruz Chembur link road and Kurar underpass in the city on Friday.
Inaugurating the Vade Bharat express trains at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on Friday afternoon, Modi said there is a revolution happening in the ralways and for the first time, two Vande Bharat trains were being flagged off at the same time. He said it will also connect Pune and Mumbai and help office goers and students.
“These trains will also promote religious tourism and people can also enjoy the beauty of the ghats,’’ said Modi adding that people can take darshan of Saibaba at Shirdi, Ramkund, Panchavati, Trimabeshwar in Nashik, Akkalkot, Siddheshwar at Solapur and Vitthal Rukmini in Pandharpur.
“Vande bharat train is a face of new India. It is a reflection of India’s speed. Today, Vande Bharat trains are connecting 108 districts in 17 states,’’ he added.
Modi said there was a time when members of Parliament (MPs) used to write letters insisting on train halts in their areas and now they are demanding Vande Bharat trains in their areas.
The Prime Minister said the two flyovers on the Santacruz Chembur link road will increase East-West connectivity and two lakh vehicles will use it every day. The PM also said that public transport has to be increased as it will increase ease of living. He said the Centre had kept 10 lakh crore rupees for infra project, which is much higher than what the UPA government did.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are due soon and this is Modi’s second visit to the city for flagging off infra work.
The PM also said the middle class had benefitted due to the tax relaxations given in the budget this year.
Chief minister Eknath Shinde said that Maharashtra has got its highest ever allocation for railway work in the Union Budget 2023.
Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis thanked the PM for sanctioning ₹13,000 crore in the budget for railway projects in the state. He said adding that 124 stations will undergo a makeover and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will be turned into iconic building.
Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the PM has increased the rail budget for Maharashtra manifolds. He also thanked Shinde for removing all obstacles of the National High Speed Rail Corporation (bulllet train) from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and helped in land acquisition.
