Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: PM Narendra Modi lays foundation for revamp of 3 Kashi railway stations

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, these railway stations will be redeveloped, leading to a significant transformation of rail infrastructure in India, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing people through a virtual medium.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment works of 508 railway stations, including three Kashi stations, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on Sunday. These 508 stations include 55 stations in Uttar Pradesh, including Banaras, Varanasi City and Kashi stations.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, these railway stations will be redeveloped, leading to a significant transformation of rail infrastructure in India, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing people through a virtual medium.

He said that each Amrit station would become a symbol of the city’s modern aspirations and ancient heritage.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that India, which is moving towards development, is at the beginning of its Amrit Kaal. There is new energy, new inspiration. There are new resolutions. In this light, today the new chapter is also beginning in Indian Railways history.

BJP Kashi region president Dilip Singh Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken up the task of realizing the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Since Indian Railways play an important role in the development of the country, Modi ji started the rejuvenation of IR after becoming Prime Minister in 2014.

Patel said that the Indian Railways is developing and expanding at a fast pace. The Banaras station at which we are standing today, before 2014, used to be a very ordinary station lacking facilities. But it has been transformed into an international-level station.

He said that the cost of redevelopment works to be done at Kashi station is about 350 crores, the cost for Banaras station is around 53.33 crores and for Varanasi City station it is 59.87 crores.
