Man & son go on rampage; attack multiple individuals at KD Babu Singh Stadium
At least four people -- including one Nagma, her sister Muskan, a ground staff member, and a swimming coach -- sustained injuries during the attack.
LUCKNOW A driver stationed at Guru Govind Singh Sports College, along with his son, went on a rampage, attacking several individuals present at the KD Babu Singh Stadium in Hazratganj on Monday morning. The accused duo -- identified as Mahesh Kumar Singh and his son Ravi -- used an iron weapon to carry out their assaults.
At least four people -- including one Nagma, her sister Muskan, a ground staff member, and a swimming coach -- sustained injuries during the attack. Remarkably, Satish Yadav, a swimming coach, managed to rescue Nagma and her sister, although he sustained severe injuries in the process. Yadav is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Based on the complaints made by victims Satish Yadav and Nagma following the incident, an FIR was filed at Hazratganj police station. Later, Ajay Kumar Sethi, the regional sports officer (RSO), also submitted a complaint in this regard.
In her complaint, Nagma informed the police that Mahesh Singh and his son both reside in their neighbourhood at KD Babu Singh Stadium. “Around 9:30 am, as she stepped out of her door, Ravi and his father Mahesh began verbally abusing her without any apparent reason. The accused then advanced towards her with an iron weapon, forcibly broke the door, and launched an attack on us with their weapons. We urgently contacted the RSO for assistance. Consequently, we dispatched Satish Yadav for aid, but he too was attacked and severely injured. The duo also vandalised parked vehicles before threatening us with harm,” stated the victim in the FIR.
“They fractured my elbow and shoulder,” said Yadav. “We request the deployment of an adequate police force within the stadium premises to regain control of the situation. Additionally, we urge an immediate investigation to bring the culprits to justice and ensure strict action against them,” stated the RSO.
