Malfunctioning lift and unfinished ramp anguish patients at Lucknow hosp
Following their visit to the hospital on August 5, Mayank lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell and health officials from the National Health Mission.
LUCKNOW: A malfunctioning lift is what Kamini Kapoor, 70, encountered upon arriving at TB Combined Hospital for a doctor’s appointment with her son Mayank Kapoor, who resides in the Thakurganj area in an apartment. The situation worsened when they were purportedly advised to seek treatment at a private hospital for better amenities.
“The lift was out of order, the ramp was incomplete, and when I approached the chief medical superintendent, Dr Vasudha Singh, hoping these concerns would be addressed, I was instructed to go to a private hospital for improved facilities,” recounted Mayank Kapoor.
Upon reaching out to Dr Vasudha Singh on Monday, she confirmed that reports had been submitted to senior officials but declined to elaborate further on the matter. Following their visit to the hospital on August 5, Mayank lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell and health officials from the National Health Mission.
“I accompanied my mother, Kamini Kapoor, to the hospital for an appointment with OPD registration number 101096 for physiotherapy and dental consultation. Upon arriving at the hospital, I was informed that the lift was unavailable due to ongoing construction. Consequently, patients could only access the first floor where dental OPDs are held via a ramp. To my dismay, I observed that the ramp itself was not adequately constructed,” detailed Mayank in his complaint.
“When I explained my concerns to Dr Vasudha Singh in her office and requested that the OPDs be relocated from the first floor to the ground floor to accommodate senior citizens and differently abled patients, she advised me to take my patient to a private hospital and find my own solution,” Mayank lamented in his complaint.
