Amid heavy rain PMC appeals citizens to shift from floodline areas

The civic body has also appealed citizens to not go near electric poles and cut wires as there are chances of electrocution

As the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red alert in Pune city for the next 48 hours, the Pune Municipal Corporation has issued various guidelines for the citizens.

The PMC has appealed to citizens residing in slums and living near nullahs to move to a safe location.

The guidelines were issued by municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar and additional municipal commissioner Ravindra Binwade

Kumar said, “Those residing in floodline areas should shift to other locations and remove the structures. Citizens are requested to not go near flood areas.”

The civic body has also appealed citizens to not go near electric poles and cut wires as there are chances of electrocution.

-Avoid man holes while driving or walking

-Shift from floodline areas

-Do not to stay near hills

-Contact PMC if any building is in dilapidated condition

-Societies must arrange for a water pump if water accumulates in parking areas

-Do not step out unnecessarily
