PUNE A 41-year-old man was killed after being hit by a tempo that strayed into the opposite diversion along Saswad road in Pune on Saturday.

The unidentified tempo driver was trying to overtake a truck and strayed into the lane of opposite diversion just when the two-wheeler was passing by. The tempo hit the two-wheeler head-on on which Jadhav was riding and causing him fatal injuries. (REPRESENTATIVE PHOTO)

The deceased man was identified as Navnath Ramchandra Jadhav, 41, a resident of the Saptarshi Apartment in Fursungi in Pune. The incident happened around 12:20 am on Saturday.

A complaint in the matter was lodged by the brother of the deceased man, Nagesh Jadhav, 38, a resident of the Mauli Padale area of Mhalunge gaothan in Pune.

The unidentified tempo driver was trying to overtake a truck and strayed into the lane of opposite diversion just when the two-wheeler was passing by. The tempo hit the two-wheeler head-on on which Jadhav was riding and causing him fatal injuries.

A case under Sections 279, 304(a), 427 of the Indian Penal Code along with Sections 119/177, 184, and 132(1)(c) of the Motor Vehicle Act was registered at Loni Kalbhor police station.
