The accused has been identified as Santosh Ramesh Gunjal of Kakade Vasti on Pune-Solapur Road.

According to the police, the incident took place at a private facility, Shreya Clinic, at around 12.45 pm on Wednesday. Gunjal had visited the clinic with a head injury, where he was treated and given first aid by Dr Santosh Mahadev Gaikwad.

However, an argument reportedly broke out between the accused and the doctor over payment for the treatment. Police said Gunjal, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, began abusing the doctor and subsequently vandalised the clinic premises.

Following a complaint lodged by Dr Gaikwad, the police registered a case against Gunjal under relevant sections of law.
