The additional signboards were installed during the G20 summit; however, signboards were removed after the conclusion of the event claim flyers.

Many flyers who are from outside of Pune city are finding it difficult to locate the multi-level car parking building.

“We can see signboards warning against parking close to the airport everywhere in the vicinity of the airport, but we are unable to see signs directing us to the multi-level car parking. Some of my family members who moved to Pune last month were unaware of the parking facility close to the airport. They were fined by police for parking the car on the road near the airport,” said Bihan Chatterjee, an IT professional from Viman Nagar.

Another flyer Bharat Nagpal said, “When I visited the airport on January 16, the signboards showing the way towards the multi-level car parking could be seen on the new airport road and Weikfield Chowk. However, when I saw last week, signboards were missing from here.”

Vikas Kandul, another flyer, said, “The airport authorities and PMC only beautify the premises when there is any event in the city. For common people, authorities are not bothered.”

An official from the Pune airport authority requesting anonymity said, “Many signboards went missing after the G20 summit. Some people have misplaced the signboards. We will be replacing it with new signboards. In a few new locations, Aero mall authorities are also placing new signboards.”

Qaneez Sukhrani, civic activist, said, “Signboards play an important role to locate any new destination, especially for the people who come from other cities when they are visiting the airport for the first time. The authorities should install the signboards on priority.”

The multi-level car parking was inaugurated on November 25, 2022, by civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
