To build a strong connection between the academic institutions and industries, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on Thursday started an ‘Industry-Academia Forum’ under the skill development centre.

“The forum will plan innovative activities for students with the help of experts from the industrial sector and professors of the university. These activities will help students develop skills required to perform well at a job,” said Parag Kalkar, director of the skill development department.

On this occasion, SPPU pro-vice-chancellor Sanjeev Sonawane, dean of interdisciplinary study group Deepak Mane, head of the law department Jyoti Bhakere, faculty of the skill development department, and students were present. Whereas several dignitaries and office bearers from industries attended the programme which include Clean Max Energy Industry manager Dhananjay Nandedkar, Panama Industries Group CEO Rahul Nalavade and others.
