Pune district reports 183 new Covid cases, 1 death

PUNE Pune district on Thursday reported 183 new cases of Covid-19 and one death due to the infection in the last 24 hours, as per the state health authorities. One death was reported from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).
As per the state health department, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has so far reported 679,448 Covid cases and 9,427 deaths till Thursday. PCMC has reported 347,049 cases so far and 3,589 deaths due to Covid. Pune rural has reported 425,082 total cases so far and 7,143 Covid deaths.
In Pune district, there are 1,451,579 Covid cases. Of this, 1,429,878 patients have recovered. There has been a total of 20,509 deaths in the district. And at present, there are 1,192 active cases in the district.
As per the state health department, 494 patients were discharged on Thursday in Maharashtra taking the total to 7,719,594 in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 98.09%.
Across Maharashtra, 452 new cases and four deaths were reported on Thursday. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.82%. The state health department stated that of 78,471,604 laboratory samples, 7,870,309 have been tested positive till Thursday. That is 10.03% of patients. Currently, 22,235 people are in home quarantine and 599 in institutional quarantine.

Sangli mass murders: One more arrested for supplying poison to prime accused
Police on Wednesday arrested a person from Talegaon Dabhade in Pune district for allegedly supplying poisonous substance to the main accused for killing nine family members of the same family in Mhaisal town of Sangli district. Police officials said that Bagwan and Kshirsagar have a common Solapur connection. Kshirsagar moved to Talegaon Dabhade from Solapur five years ago.
