Pune: Externed criminal, 2 others arrested with weapons

According to the police, the accused were found with sharp weapons like swords and sickles during a combing operation on Monday night

During a combing operation against the backdrop of police sports competition, the Kondhwa police arrested three offenders, including one externed criminal, with weapons like sickles and swords.

The accused have been identified as Akshay Navnath Mhaske (25) of Mayur Colony Keshav Nagar, Suraj Sanjay Sonune (20) of Keshav Nagar and Roshan Suresh Parate (29) of Mundhwa. Parate was externed from Pune city, Pune district and Pimpri-Chinchwad city limits.

According to the police, the accused were found with sharp weapons like swords and sickles during a combing operation on Monday night. They claimed to carry the weapons for fun purposes.

Sanjay Mogale, inspector, Kondhwa police station, said, “We have received orders regarding crackdown on gangs that carry weapons and post its pictures on social media.”
