Sub-registrar’s offices in Pune to remain open on Saturdays
As per CREDAI-Pune Metro, since most of the documents registered are of home buyers who belong to the working class, most of them have holidays on Saturdays and they prefer to register their documents on weekends
PUNE In order to help facilitate home-buyers to register their documents on holidays, the office of Joint District Registrar & Registration and Collector of Stamps has issued an order to keep all sub-registrar offices open on all six days of the week from Monday to Saturday throughout March 2022. The office will remain open also on the day of Holi, which falls on Friday, March 18.

This has come after the CREDAI-Pune Metro’s appeal addressed to the registrar suggesting that since most of the documents registered are of home buyers who belong to the working class, most of them have holidays on Saturdays and they prefer to register their documents on weekends instead of working days.
According to Anil Pharande, president, CREDAI- Pune Metro, since the market value is published by the department on April 1 every year and also since March is the last month of the financial year, many homebuyers insist on registering their deeds this month.
“Being the financial year-end, keeping the offices open on Saturdays and other holidays will also help increase the revenue of the government. Therefore, for the welfare of the people, we had appealed to the government to keep the registration offices open,” he said.
As per the mandate, sub-registrar offices from Haveli No. 1 to 27 will remain open on Saturday, March 12, Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 26 to register documents.
