Youth meet to overcome stress at Pune varsity, over 1 lakh students to participate
Statutory bodies such as NRDCN and MRDC and prominent educational institutions such as College of Engineering Pune (COEP) Technological University, Symbiosis University, Bharati Vidyapeeth University are also involved in organising the upcoming EduYouthMeet
In a bid to prevent addiction and mental stress among the youth, the Art of Living Foundation in association with the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and other statutory and educational institutions is organising the EduYouthMeet in Pune on February 4 in which over 1 lakh students from over 800 colleges are expected to participate.
Statutory bodies such as NRDCN and MRDC and prominent educational institutions such as College of Engineering Pune (COEP) Technological University, Symbiosis University, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Maharashtra Education Society (MES) Group of Institutions, Progressive Education Society and Maharshi Karve Stri Shikshan Sanstha are also involved in organising the upcoming EduYouthMeet.
Advocate Himanshu Nagarkar, institutional programmes director, Art of Living Foundation, said, “The central theme of the EduYouthMeet is the new education policy (NEP) 2020, human values and a drug-free India. An estimated 1 lakh students and over 10,000 educators are expected to attend the event to uphold human values and pledge for a drug-free India. The pledge is expected to be entered in the Asia Book of Records. And the EduYouthMeet will be addressed by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder, Art of Living Foundation, along with the heads of 11 educational groups and IICR president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe. Students from over 1,000 colleges have been invited to attend the EduYouthMeet with free registration.”
“Students who attend the EduYouthMeet will get a digital certificate accredited by the heads of the participating educational groups and statutory bodies. The highlight of the EduYouthMeet will be an interactive session with gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in which amazingly efficient practical techniques to handle exam stress and anxiety will be taught. The attending students will also get a unique link to attend VOW value-added workshops or online sessions by prominent global experts,” Nagarkar said.
Rajesh Pande, NSS state coordinator, said, “The youth today is prone to various new-age challenges around their studies, careers and personal lives. It is imperative that the youth uphold human values as they face these challenges and rise up in their careers and lives. The EduYouthMeet has been organised to give a clarion call to the youth of the nation to uphold human values, stay away from addictions like drugs and work passionately to build their own careers and our great nation. This is the vision elucidated in the NEP 2020.”
