UT administrator VP Singh Badnore has approved the increment for UT following a notification to this effect from the central government.

The DA enhancement is for both employees and pensioners. Employees of aided schools and colleges are also covered. Those on deputation from Punjab have been included in anticipation of a hike in the state.

The central government on October 26 had decided to increase the rate of DA from 154% to 164%. It will be applicable from July 1, 2019, for all UT employees drawing their pay under the revised scales as per the Sixth Central Pay Commission. DA is a cost of living adjustment allowance paid to mitigate the impact of inflation on employees.
