Many a life is wasted by failing to take up the right work and then feeling unhappy about such a situation. A happy and prosperous life is one that gives the job at hand 100% attention and devotion. That means complete love for the job you are doing. Such an attitude will mean sure success and many rewards and awards that will help you have a sense of fulfilment.
It is as simple as reading or not reading a book irrespective of whether you like it or not. I buy many books every year but some of them are discarded after giving a casual reading. Why should you waste your time when you have no interest in a particular thing?
It is always better to move ahead and try for greener pastures. The point is if you can do this, then there is no way why you can’t decide about taking up a job that will carry you far, later in life.
With complete devotion and love for your work, it will become your most entertaining and satisfying means to live a life that is not only happy but also fulfilling.
It was in this context renowned polymath, author and political theorist Benjamin Franklin burst out: “If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins.”
That is to say, reason, driven by passion and love, can definitely make you fall in love with your work. A time comes when you become workaholic and you fail to understand the difference between work and play. Your obsession with your work makes you feel, as American comedian George Burn said: “I would rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate.”
