The factors like good opening pairs, solid middle order batsmen and fine pace attack contributed in making India number one team in the Test cricket, Gaekwad said.

Mongia said, "a couple of years ago, it was difficult to dream of becoming number one in the Test cricket due to several factors.

After beating Australia and New Zealad on their soil, Dhoni-led team was on its way to be number one in the Test cricket and now challenge will be to retain the position, said Mongia.

Former chairman of the selection committee and Indian wicket keeper Kiran More described it as a great moment for the Indian cricket and the entire team deserved credit for it.
