The T20 Asia Cup has seen some sparkling batting performances, and while centuries have been rare, half-centuries have often shaped matches. Several top-order batters have left their mark with consistent scores of fifty or more, which turned out to be match-winning contributions.

Virat Kohli stands tall among all with the most fifty-plus scores in the tournament. Across the 2016 and 2022 editions, he played 10 matches and scored 429 runs at a remarkable average of 85.80. His tally includes one century and four fifties in the tournament. His unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in 2022 remains the highest individual score in the T20 Asia Cup.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan is another standout name. In the 2022 edition alone, he struck three half-centuries in six innings, amassing 281 runs at an impressive average of 56.20. While his strike rate of 117.57 shows a more measured approach, Rizwan’s role at the top was crucial in setting the platform for Pakistan’s progress to the final.

From Sri Lanka, Dinesh Chandimal, Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka also make the list. Chandimal, in the 2016 edition, scored two fifties in just four innings, while Mendis and Nissanka, part of the 2022 campaign, both contributed with two half-centuries each. Mendis, in particular, batted with a brisk strike rate of 156.56, giving Sri Lanka explosive starts, while Nissanka’s measured style were instrumental in helping Sri Lanka lift the 2022 title.

Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat also features in the list, thanks to his century in 2016 and another fifty that took his tally of 50+ scores to two. Known for his aggressive hitting, he struck at nearly 147 across his two Asia Cup appearances.

India’s Rohit Sharma, one of the most destructive openers in the format, has also contributed with two half-centuries in the T20 Asia Cup. His best of 83 showed how he can dominate attacks, and with 27 fours and 12 sixes in the tournament, his big-hitting prowess is evident.
