For uncapped Australian spinner Bryce McGain it was the worst possible start to the cricket tour of South Africa as he missed the team flight.

The Victorian leg-spinner overslept and it was his state mate Andrew McDonald who realised that McGain was missing at the airport Monday morning. McDonald rang-up McGain but by that time it was too late for the spinner to catch the flight.
A sheepish McGain made it to South Africa hours behind the team on another flight, and was at the Potchefstroom team hotel Tuesday morning.
McGain is yet to play a Test match and broke down on the eve of his Test debut in India last year. A Cricket Australia spokesman said that the team management will decide whether McGain would be punished.
