Yusuf Pathan arrived at the Supersport Park on Thursday, half an hour after a majority of his teammates. He looked a bit lost before eventually finding his way to the dressing room.

But once he entered the ground and play was called, he was in familiar territory, doing the job for the Rajasthan Royals, as he had done on Tuesday night.

Sharing the new ball with Dimitri Mascarenhas, Pathan struck with his first delivery, castling Matthew Hayden and again striking in his second over by dismissing Parthiv Patel.

But he could not perform with the bat later in the evening as his side went down by 38 runs, chasing the Chennai Super Kings' 164 for five.

Sent in, CSK were in a fix by the fourth over before the third-wicket partnership of 67 between Suresh Raina and S. Badrinath revived them.

Badri played an important hand, considering that he was sent at number four for the first time in six matches.

Ton undone

Raina pumped his fist in the air after whacking Munaf Patel for a boundary to take him from 96 to 100. This was displayed on the giant scoreboard. He had just become the first Indian in IPL history to score a century. Even before the excitement could sink in, it was corrected during the interval. Raina’s 100 was reduced to 98. It was a goof up by the scorers. They had wrongly given Dhoni’s two off a free-hit to Suresh Raina.
