Delhi Capitals show faith on ex-CSK quick to remain alive: DC predicted XI vs CSK

DC predicted XI vs CSK: Bottom placed Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. DC are coming off an impressive victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore and will look to keep their playoff hopes alive with a win against CSK.
David Warner’s men have finally built some momentum and have secured four wins in their last five games. But having lost six of their ten games so far they will need to win all of their remaining matches to have any chance of making it to the play-offs.
The previous encounter saw Delhi wicketkeeper-batter Phil Salt put on a solid show with the bat. His match-winning effort of 87(45), coupled with quick-fire knocks from Mitchell Marsh (26 off 17) and Rilee Rossouw (35* off 22) powered Delhi to a seven-wicket win against RCB.
It will be interesting to see if the batters can continue performing against a good CSK bowling unit at Chepauk, which has a reputation of assisting the spinners. DC played four overseas batters against RCB as Anrich Nortje was unavailable.
Meanwhile, Warner is the leading run-scorer this season with 330 runs with four half-centuries but his strike rate of 120 is a concern.
Axar Patel has so far scored 246 runs this season. He is the only domestic batter to have made a notable contribution to the team's batting efforts so far.
Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have picked up 15 wickets between them this season at an economy of under seven. Mitchell Marsh is the top wicket-taker for the team with 9 scalps so far.
Nortje missed the last game as he went back to South Africa due to a personal emergency. It is not yet clear if he will be available for selection.
