Duncan will add value to team: Kirsten

Former India coach Gary Kirsten believes his successor Duncan Fletcher will add great value to the team and the players will enjoy working with him.

Former India coach Gary Kirsten believes his successor Duncan Fletcher will add great value to the team and the players will enjoy working with him.

Kirsten, who left after guiding India to a historic 2022 World Cup triumph, said Fletcher’s appointment will bring a positive change to the side.

“I did spend some time with Duncan and he asked some good questions about my process and time with the Indian side. He will have his own ideas about coaching the Indian side and it will be a positive change,” Kirsten said during the ICC Cricket World Radio Show Thursday.

“He had had great success with other teams so I have no doubt he will arrive and offer value to the India team,” he said.

He praised Fletcher’s coaching style while recollecting the days when he was coached by the the former Zimbabwe skipper.
