England vs Pakistan Highlights, Cricket World Cup 2023: England ended their 2023 World Cup campaign with back-to-back wins, defeating Pakistan in their final league fixture, in Kolkata on Saturday. Chasing a target of 338 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for 244 in 43.3 overs. David Willey removed Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman early as Pakistan were reduced to 10/2 in the 338-run chase at Eden Garden's in Kolkata. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan did some rebuilding, before Gus Atkinson removed Babar for 38(45). Soon, Moeen Ali struck in the 23rd over to remove Rizwan (36). David Willey ended up taking a three-wicket haul also his 100th ODI wicket. Other than Shafique and Zaman, he emoved Salam Ali Agha (51). Mohammad Wasim Jr. (16*) set up a final wicket partnership with Haris Rauf (35), but Chris Woakes struck in the 44th over to remove the latter as England won the match.

Earlier, England produced a solid show after opting to bat first against Pakistan. Ben Stokes, who slammed a century in the previous encounter, continued his supreme run and chipped in with an impactful 76-ball 84 before getting to Shaheen Afridi. The same bowler had dropped Stokes on 10, following which he added 100-plus stand with Joe Root for the third wicket. Root also completed his half-century before getting out for 60(72) against Shaheen, who picked two wickets in his full quota of overs.

Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan gave England a strong start and added 82 for the first wicket before Iftikhar Ahmed broke the stand in the 14th over. Malan departed for 31(39). Bairstow completed his half-century and was eventually removed by Haris Rauf for 59(61). Harry Brook and Jos Buttler also made significant contribution towards the end. Brook added 17-ball 30, while Buttler scored 27 off 18.
