ICC suspends Razzak for illegal bowling action

Razzak was reported for suspected illegal action, exceeding the 15-degree permitted under ICC regulations, by on-field umpires Daryl Harper and Asoka de Silva after the second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Dhaka on October 29.
The ICC ordered an independent analysis which was carried out by Dr Marc Portus, member of the ICC Panel of Human Movement Specialists, at the Australian Institute of Sport, Biomechanics Department, Canberra on November 17.
The analysis showed that Razzak's elbow flexation for both his stock delivery and fast ball ranged from 22 to 28 degrees, an ICC statement said.
Razzak's suspension applies with immediate effect and he is free to go for re-assessment after undergoing necessary modification to his action. He can appeal within 14 days after receiving the report.
