Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA) chief executive Tim May said the players, including eight from Australia, are mulling legal action against the ICL.
“For a number of months, FICA (on behalf of a number of players from various countries) has been in discussions with ICL in relation to outstanding payments to players, officials and support staff, relating as far back to 2008. These outstanding monies amount to millions of dollars,” May said.
“The players are sick and tired of the broken commitments from ICL and now they believe they have no other option than to contemplate legal action against ICL for the recovery of these payments,” May was quoted as saying in Cricinfo.
WC Hosts may play knockouts at home New Delhi: The host countries of the 2011 World Cup could play the quarterfinals and semi-finals at home if they make it to these stages. The International Cricket Council's Chief Executive Committee supported the request to this effect from the World Cup's Central Organising Committee in its meeting in Dubai.
“Where two co-hosts are involved, the higher-ranked side from the group stage will host the match. This recommendation will now be considered by the Board,” an ICC statement said on Tuesday.
In another important decision, a five-member committee, also comprising BCCI secretary, N Srinivasan, has been constituted to look into Future Tour Programme post-2012.
