India vs Zimbabwe 1st ODI Highlights: Chahar, Dhawan-Gill power IND to clinical 10-wicket win over ZIM

Chahar, who bowled unchanged for seven overs with first spell figures of 3/27, was well supported by Mohammed Siraj (1/36). 

Prasidh Krishna (3/50) and Axar Patel (3/24) also got their share of middle and lower-order victims while Kuldeep Yadav (0/36) went wicketless.

The focus shifts towards the batters now. Gill and Iyer open in 190 chase.

"I back myself with the bat. We were just trying to keep it as simple as possible; watch the ball, hit the ball, he (Ngarava) was able to do it much better than me," says Brad Evans, who remained unbeaten on 33.

"All we want to do in this series is show that we can compete. If we can get 2-3 wickets and make it hard for them, that would give us confidence going forward."

A record 70-run stand for the ninth wicket between Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava frustrated India but their bowlers would be happy with the overall effort. 

On his return, Chahar picked up three, and Prasidh, Axar also snared three wickets each. Siraj also got movement from the surface and got one wicket to his name.

India need 190 runs to win in 50 overs

Gill takes a sharp catch in the slips and Axar gets the final wicket! Zimbabwe have been bowled out for 189.

Prasidh removes Ngarava (34) with an accurate yorker... an excellent innings comes to an end!

Boundaries keep on coming! Brad Evans lofts it over the mid-off fielder for four runs... and it's now Zimbabwe's highest 9th wicket partnership against India. Ngarava then picks up a four. He beats Axar at deep mid-wicket!

Ngarava hits it over Siraj's head for a boundary and then hits it in a similar region for a double Fifty partnership comes up between Ngarava and Evans! The pair gets applause from the Harare crowd.

Excellent shot from Brad Evans, who hits it to the left of mid-off. A top-order batter would have played that kind of shot! He times it to perfection and keeps the scoreboard moving.

Two boundaries in one over! Much needed for Zimbabwe, who will look to play as many overs as possible. Brad Evans late cuts Axar as it's short and wide.

A rare error from India today. Ngarava lofts Axar's delivery to long-on and Gill fumbled near the boundary rope. It was travelling with pace as well. Four runs!

An excellent line from Kuldeep Yadav. Brad Evans gets no room as he pushes the ball to mid-wicket. End of the 30th over... Axar to continue from the other end.

Another one bites the dust! Axar traps Jongwe. The Zimbabwean goes upstairs but the impact is umpire's call. Axar has been excellent with his length and this delivery struck Jongwe right in front. Axar gets his second wicket with a slider.

OUT! Axar joins the fun! He removes Regis Chakabva, who departs after a well-compiled 35. Chakabva goes for a cut but the ball crashes onto the middle stump.

25.6: Another boundary! Jongwe punches it with great timing to beat the fielder at mid-on. 10 runs off the over.

Axar beats Chakabva, who goes for a flick. But it also goes past Samson. The ball travels just inches away from the leg stump but doesn't many any contact. It's four byes for Zimbabwe. End of 25th over.

Wickets keep on coming!!! Prasidh removes Ryan Burl (11) as Zimbabwe lose their sixth wicket. Burl miscued a pull and it went straight to Shubman Gill in the square leg region.

Big shout... and the finger goes up. Chakabva has been given out LBW and he decides to challenge the decision and UltraEdge show a faint spike. The finest little feather helps Chakabva survive!

Just two singles off Kuldeep's over and it's the end of 20th over. Zimbabwe's scoring rate is still below 4.

Dhawan in slips didn't move an inch. Prasidh forces Raza to go for a push and the ZIM batter gets the outside edge. First wicket for Prasidh! 

Raza falls prey to Prasidh's tricky length and perishes after scoring just 12. Zimbabwe have lost their five wickets by 17th over.

Kuldeep Yadav into the attack and he concedes just one from his first over. Chakabva hits one short delivery to long-off to end the over with 1 run.

Big hooping in-swinger from Chahar and it's a huge LBW appeal... Rahul goes upstairs but ball tracking shows it's missing the stumps. India lose their second review and Raza survives!

Six runs off the over, which had a lovely Raza boundary. The in-form batter timed it perfectly through the covers.

Consecutive boundaries for Chakabva! He whacks one through mid-off and then hits one straight over the non-striker's head. Nine runs off Siraj's over.

A rare freebie for Zimbabwe. Chahar bowls a full toss and Chakabva flicks away in the square leg region. Chakabva and Sikandar Raza have a big task at hand. The hosts have already lost four wickets in the first 11 overs.

Plumb in front! Some late movement for Deepak Chahar and Madhevere falls for 5. Madhevere went for the flick but the ball struck on the back-pad. Up went the finger as the impact was in front of middle stump.
