Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin has stoked controversy by dismissing Jos Buttler when the Rajasthan Royals opener was outside his crease at the non-striker’s end. The incident changed the complexion of the match completely as Buttler, who was going strong, was dismissed at a crucial juncture in a big chase and that led to a collapse and KXIP went on to win the match.

Rajasthan Royals team mentor Shane Warne was quite critical of Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin after the ‘Mankad’ dismissal of Jos Buttler during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 match on Monday.

Rajasthan Royals batsman Buttler was run out on 69 while backing up at the non-striker’s end, with Kings XI Punjab skipper Ashwin choosing to whip off the bails as the runner stepped out of the crease instead of completing his delivery to the batsman on strike.
