The battle between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings is being built up as a clash between two big hitting wicket-keeper batsmen, who are also the best finishers that the IPL has seen this season. On one hand is a legend , who has seen and done it all, and on the other is a young pretender to the throne.

One player, who hasn’t had the best season but could be a major threat for Delhi Capitals is CSK’s vice-captain and number Suresh Raina. The southpaw showcased just why is he such a game changer when the two teams clashed in Chennai. With the Delhi bowlers on top in the powerplay overs, Raina came in and broke the shackles by playing some aggressive strokes and slowly and steadily built the platform that allowed the likes of Dhoni to push the total beyond par.

Suresh Raina has a stellar record when it comes to IPL playoffs and he could well be the biggest threat for Shreyas Iyer and his team.

A look at the list of top performers in IPL playoffs could well give the Delhi team sleepless nights as four out of the top five run getters are part of the current CSK side, with the exception of former opener Michael Hussey who is currently part of CSK’s support staff.

Raina leads the list with Dhoni in hot pursuit. The southpaw has scored 695 runs in 22 matches at a strike-rate of 160.51, which is far more than the others.

Delhi Capitals will do well to try and exploit Raina’s perennial problem against the short ball as they have the likes of Ishant Sharma and Chris Morris in their ranks. But if Raina fires, expect CSK to make it to the summit clash yet again.
