IPL 2025, MI vs GT Highlights: The drama stayed alive right until the last action of the match with GT sealing off the run chase with a single off the last ball. Rahul Tewatia's four off the first ball and Gerald Coetzee's six off the third, couple with a no ball by Deepak Chahar, led to GT needing one run to win off the last two balls. However, Coetzee fell off the second last ball, which brought it down to GT needing one run to win off the last. They just about managed to take a single, with Pandya missing his throw from mid off and no one being present to collect the ball at the non-striker's end. GT thus won the match by three wickets and went back to the top of the table.

The pendulum swung back and forth throughout this match, with the Gujarat Titans run chase being plagued by rain breaks. It has come down to GT's chase being reduced to 19 overs and their target being revised to 147. All this means that GT need 15 runs to win off the one over that can be bowled after play resumes following the latest rain break.

Gujarat Titans seemed to be down and out when they lost Jos Buttler in the 12th over but then Sherfane Rutherford's big hits in the next two suddenly put them ahead of the DLS par score. Moreover, rains came in and forced the players off right after that. The pendulum swung again after resumption though, with Bumrah dismissing Gill in the first over and then Boult sending back Rutherford in the next. Bumrah then dismissed Shahrukh Khan and MI were suddenly ahead once again. Another blow came for GT in the very next over with Rashid Khan falling to Ashwani Kumar but then the players were forced to go off again due to another bout of rain.

The start of Gujarat Titans' chase was affected by intermittent rains, with the umpires keeping the players on the field. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult used the conditions to the full and ensured that GT couldn't score at more than 5 runs an over in the period. Boult dismissed Sai Sudharsan with a peace with just his second ball of the match.

Gujarat Titans were hurt at the start of the match by quite a few dropped catches. However, they kept their foot firmly planted on MI's throat and eventually got the control they were looking for after the 10th over. MI limped to a score of 155/8 in 20 overs.

GT made a good start but it was spoilt somewhat as they dropped catches after catches to give Mumbai Indians' Suryakumar Yadav and Will Jacks multiple lives. They dropped Jacks twice and SKY once, all inside the first six overs. Earlier, Mohammed Siraj, responsible for the most glaring of the drops, dismissed Ryan Rickelton off just the second ball of the match. Rohit Sharma then fell to Arshad Khan in the fourth over.

Shubman Gill won the toss and Gujarat Titans are bowling first against the marauding Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, with the possibility of rain in the horizon. Gill said that GT have chosen to leave out Kagiso Rabada, stating that the team management felt that the South African spearhead can use some more practice sessions before playing a match.
