Irfan Pathan has been at the receiving end many a times on social media, but on Sunday night it was his opportunity to troll someone after he was erroneously tagged in a congratulatory tweet meant for actor Irrfan Khan.

The Bollywood actor on Sunday night bagged the award for Best Actor during the Filmfare Awards for his role in the movie ‘Hindi Medium’.

But an error in putting out a congratulatory tweet saw a leading entertainment magazine’s Twitter handle conveying wishes to the Indian cricketer, and not the actor.

Irfan was impish in his reply, as he apologised for not being present at the award function and requested the trophy to be sent at his home. Irfan’s reply had many of his followers in splits.

Irfan, who was axed by Baroda from their state team midway through the Ranji Trophy 2017-18, is now seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the board.

He was not selected in Baroda side for the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy as well.

The 33-year-old all-rounder made his last international appearance in late 2012, and has also not been among the most-sought after players during Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions.
