Pakistan lacking in confidence: Tanvir
The reason behind defending champion Pakistan's flundering campaign in the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies is the lack of confidence among Shahid Afridi's men, feels discarded all-rounder Sohail Tanvir.
Tanvir, who missed out on selection for the tournament because of a knee injury, said Pakistan is low on confidence at the moment and that is hampering the team's efforts.
Tanvir, who was a member of World Cup squad last year that won the title in England, said Pakistan will have to raise the game by several notches to remain in the hunt.
"The ability is there, it's just a case of the confidence returning and then everything will fall into place. Last year in England we were the same, our confidence was low at the start of the competition and our victory against New Zealand at the Oval really boosted our confidence," Tanvir told the 'pakpassion.net website'.
The left-arm pacer confirmed that he was present in the Pakistan training camp before the World Cup in Lahore and was surprised at the lackluster fielding effort so far in the Caribbean.
