Captain Shoaib Malik will be grilled by the officials of Pakistan Cricket Board at a meeting in Lahore less than 24 hours after returning from India following humiliating series defeats in one-dayers as well as Tests.
Malik and team manager Talat Ali Malik will attend the meeting to be chaired by PCB Chairman Nasim Ashraf while coach Geoff Lawson has been allowed to fly off to Australia to attend his son's graduation ceremony.
"The meeting has been called to carry out a post-mortem of our team's performance in India," said Shafqat Naghmi, the Board's Chief Operating Officer.
"Obviously, a lot of questions will be asked because we didn't really perform well on the tour," he was quoted as saying by 'The News'.
Naghmi, however, did not comment on speculation about cutting short the tenure of Malik's captaincy and said the meeting would analyse the causes of defeats.
"The meeting will not just be about singling out the people who are to be blamed for the defeats in India. It would be to analyse what went wrong during the tour and more importantly we would be expecting people to come out with solid suggestions to bring improvement," he said.
Pakistan has suffered back-to-back defeats against South Africa at home and in India under Malik and the Board would want the trend to be reversed when they meet the Aussies next year.
