Nicholas Pooran has established himself as one of the most destructive left-handed batters in T20 cricket, combining fearless strokeplay, exceptional six-hitting ability and the temperament to deliver match-winning knocks.
The Trinidadian first made his mark at the 2014 ICC U19 World Cup, scoring 303 runs in six matches, including a spectacular 143 against Australia. After overcoming a serious injury layoff, Pooran returned strongly in the Caribbean Premier League and soon became a key figure in West Indies cricket. He announced himself on the global stage with a brilliant 118 against Sri Lanka at the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
In the IPL, Pooran’s explosive batting has made him one of the competition’s most feared middle-order hitters. He joined Lucknow Super Giants during IPL 2023 and made an immediate impact, scoring 358 runs at a strike rate of 172.95. He took his game to another level in IPL 2024, amassing 499 runs at 178.21, including three half-centuries.
Retained by LSG, Pooran enjoyed his most prolific IPL season in 2025, scoring 524 runs at a staggering strike rate of 196.25. His campaign included an unbeaten 87 off 36 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders, one of the standout innings of the season.
In IPL 2026, Pooran continued to be a key part of the LSG batting unit. His campaign included a 63 against Mumbai Indians and a quickfire 32 off 17 balls against Chennai Super Kings.
Now one of the defining stars of the Lucknow Super Giants batting lineup, ‘Nicky P’ brings power, flair and the ability to change games within a few deliveries, making him one of LSG’s most potent match-winners.
