Tayla Vlaeminck

Tayla Vlaeminck is one of Australia's quickest bowlers, a right-arm pacer whose career has been shaped as much by perseverance as by her raw pace. She made her international debut in 2018, featuring in her first ODI against Pakistan before making her T20I debut against the same opposition during the T20 World Cup. Vlaeminck then earned her Baggy Green in the 2019 Women's Ashes, making her Test debut against England at Taunton on 18 July. She was also part of Australia's T20 World Cup-winning squad in 2018.

Her career was soon interrupted by a series of serious injuries, including two knee reconstructions, a foot injury and a shoulder problem. Those setbacks ruled her out of several major tournaments, including the 2020 T20 World Cup, 2022 ODI World Cup and 2023 T20 World Cup. Despite the repeated interruptions, her ability to generate genuine pace kept her firmly in Australia's plans.

Vlaeminck made a long-awaited return to the Australia XI during the 2024 tour of Bangladesh, only to suffer another serious shoulder injury four deliveries into her opening game of the 2024 T20 World Cup. After another extended rehabilitation period, she returned to competitive cricket in 2026 and was selected in Australia A's squad for the tour of India, featuring in the 2nd unofficial WT20I, marking another step in her latest comeback.
