Ravichandran Ashwin shared a noteworthy tweet about Virat Kohli during the 1st ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Kohli slammed his 45th ODI ton in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka.

Extending his free-scoring run in the series opener against Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka on Tuesday, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli slammed a sensational century in 1st One Day International (ODI) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. Inching closer to breaking Sachin Tendulkar's world record, Kohli slammed his 45th ODI ton as Rohit Sharma and Co. posted a gigantic total in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka.

Sharing a noteworthy tweet about 1st ODI between the two teams, veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had predicted a King Kohli century in the series opener at Guwahati. Taking to Twitter before Kohli converted his quick-fire fifty into a historic century, spin wizard Ashwin had backed the former Indian skipper to slam his 73rd international ton on Tuesday.

“Let’s take a guess, how many of you think that we are going to score 400+ with a 73rd for@imVkohli ? #INDvSL,” Ashwin said in his tweet. Living up to expectations, Kohli completed his 45th ODI ton which propelled the hosts to a competitive 373 for seven in 50 overs. After Ashwin's post about Kohli became the talk of the town, the Indian all-rounder shared another cheeky tweet to win the internet. "Jinxing is overrated," Ashwin tweeted while sharing a hilarious meme on the microblogging site.

Kohli smashed a quick-fire 113 off 87 balls to help Rohit-led India post a massive total in the 50-over contest. The former Indian skipper also surpassed Tendulkar by registering his record ninth century against Sri Lanka in the limited-overs format. While Kohli top-scored for India in the series opener, Indian skipper Rohit (83) and Shubman Gill (70) also played crucial knocks for the hosts at Guwahati. Batting icon Kohli is now only four shy of Tendulkar's all-time record of 49 centuries in ODI cricket. The 34-year-old has slammed 45 tons and 64 half-centuries in 266 ODIs for the two-time world champions.
