South Africa beat New Zealand by six wickets in the second one-day international in Napier on Wednesday to give the tourists an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

In reply to New Zealand's 230 all out in the 48th over, South Africa reached 231 for four in the 39th over.

Opener Hashim Amla top scored for South Africa with 92, with JP Duminy making 43. For New Zealand, Tarun Nethula finished with two for 60 off his 10 overs.

In the New Zealand innings, Brendon McCullum made 85 and Martin Guptill 58 while Morne Morkel took five for 38 and Lonwabo Tsotsobe three for 43.

The final ODI, in Auckland on Saturday, is followed by three Tests.
