Sri Lanka vs South Africa, 5th ODI as it happened: Sri Lanka thrash South Africa, lose series 2-3

Sri Lanka thrashed South Africa in the last of five match ODI series by 178 runs. With this win Sri Lanka restored some pride having already lost the series.

Sri Lanka convincingly beat South Africa in the fifth match of the One Day International Series by 178 runs in Colombo on Sunday. Batting first Sri Lanka posted 299 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. Captain Angelo Matthews was the star for the hosts with a fluent 97 not out. Niroshan Dickwella also contributed with 43. South Africa never got going in their chase and were bundled out for 121. Captain Quinton de Kock was the lone contributor with 54 while leg-spinner Akila Dhanjaya took six wickets. With this win Sri Lanka restored some pride having already lost the series.
