Sri Lanka defeated South Africa by three wickets to win the one-off T20 encounter in Colombo on Tuesday. Batting first, Lakshan Sandakan led an inspired spin attack to help skittle out South Africa for their lowest ever Twenty20 total of 98. Sandakan returned 3-19 with his left-arm wrist spin, ably supported by fellow spinners Dhananjaya de Silva and Akila Dananjaya who took two wickets each. In reply, Dinesh Chandimal and Dhananjaya de Silva kept calm as wickets continue to tumble and were able to guide the hosts to victory. Sri Lanka swept the two-Test series but the Proteas returned to clinch the ODIs 3-2.
