Taufiq Umar scored his seventh Test century to steer Pakistan to 292 for three wickets in their first innings at the close on the third day of the second Test against Bangladesh.

Taufiq made 130 while Azhar Ali made 57 in reply to Bangladesh's first innings total of 338 all out.

The hosts made their only breakthrough of the day when they dismissed Azhar Ali in the second session after a third morning was delayed by heavy fog.

Ali had shared a 127 run stand with Taufiq when he was caught behind by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim off the bowling of spinner Shakib Al Hasan for 57.

Brief Scores: Bangladesh 338 (S Hasan 144, S Nafees 97); Pakistan 292/3 (T Umar 130, A Ali 57).
