With India scheduled to play just two Test matches in the next 11 months, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men's new-found status as the number one team in the longer version is at stake and BCCI has requested its South African counterpart to agree on a series which would feature three ODIs and two Test matches, instead of five one dayers as was originally scheduled.

Already Dhoni and senior batsman Sachin Tendulkar have expressed their wishes to play more Test matches.

Besides, the Working Committee will also take a call tomorrow on whether to hike the salaries of the national selectors.

"A proposal to increase the salaries of national selectors had been put forth during the BCCI's finance committee meeting today. A decision on it will be taken by the Working Committee," a BCCI source said.

The national selectors are being paid Rs 25 lakh per annum for their services since last year.
