India's star opener Prithvi Shaw registered multiple records to his name when he smashed an incredible 379 off just 383 deliveries during a Ranji Trophy match against Assam on Wednesday. Shaw produced an explosive outing with the bat, as he smashed 49 fours and four sixes en route to his triple century knock in Guwahati. Thanks to a blistering innings from the 23-year-old, Mumbai declared their first innings on 687/4.

Shaw is currently out-of-favour with the Indian team across all formats of the game, having last played for the side in 2021 in a T20I against Sri Lanka. During this time, Shaw produced consistent performances for Mumbai in domestic cricket, and was at his explosive best in the Indian Premier League as well.

After being repeatedly snubbed from Team India squads, Shaw has often posted cryptic stories on his official Instagram profile in seeming disappointment about not being considered for national selection. During an interview with Sportstar, Shaw opened up on the trolling he faces on social media following the snubs, and insisted that while it ‘hurts’, he has learnt to not let it hurt him.

“What can I do? Sidha ignore kar deta hoon (I just ignore). I am not a person who loves talking negative things about people. At times, it hurts when you see or come across things about you that are not correct. But you need to take things in your stride and follow your own process,” Shaw said.

“As long as I am okay with my performance and how I deal with my life, I don’t worry about what’s being written or spoken about. Agar main sahi hoon (if I am right), then if someone is saying something on social media, mujhe koi farak nahi padta (it does not bother me),” the batter further added.

In the 2021/22 Ranji Trophy, Shaw had also led the Mumbai team to the final of the edition; however, the side had faced a defeat to Madhya Pradesh in the title clash.
