The Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday said that former Pakistan captain Younis Khan needs to approach the PCB if he is to be considered for a recall to the national team in England.
PCB legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi said that so far Younis had not approached the board after his indefinite ban was lifted by the appellate judge last month.
"You can say his (Younis) case is in remand right now and the PCB can only move forward when he returns from England," Rizvi said.
Younis had, infact, returned home this week but has maintained a low-profile since then.
Rizvi said the board could only consider clearing Younis to play for Pakistan again if makes his position clear before the board on the case pending against him.
"The other players have been cleared to play for Pakistan after they approached the board," he said.
Rizvi was asked for his comments after PCB chairman Ejaz Butt said in England that another former captain Mohammad Yousuf did not need to appeal against his ban to be considered for Pakistan again.
Butt said since Yousuf is ready to come out of retirement and has been cleared to play for Pakistan, there was no need for the batsman to acquire clearance to resume his career.
"There is no need for Yousuf to appeal against the indefinite ban. He has shown his availability and now we are considering him seriously," Butt said in Leeds.
