Sources are indicating that Yuvraj has written to the BCCI saying that he has contracted a lung infection and needs three weeks to recuperate, effectively ruling him out of the West Indies tour.

If Yuvraj Singh opts out, then majority of India's top stars will not be available for the WI tour.

Yuvraj's move comes in the backdrop of another major player, Gautam Gambhir, pulling out of the Caribbean tour due to a shoulder injury.

Gambhir, who was supposed to lead the team found himself in the midst of a controversy for playing in the cash-rich IPL at the cost of national duty.
