Body of woman found near RML Hospital

NEW DELHI: A 50-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the foot overbridge close to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi on Saturday.

NEW DELHI: A 50-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the foot overbridge close to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi on Saturday.

The woman, Sheila, reportedly had many cuts on her wrist and a dupatta tangled around her neck.

Her body was spotted by a passerby following which a PCR call was made and she was taken to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. The body has been sent for postmortem.

Police are investigating the case from all angles.

Preliminary findings suggest that she first tried to slash her wrist and then tied several knots around her neck using her dupatta to kill herself, sources said. The final report that will ascertain the exact cause of death is awaited.

The police contacted her husband, Ram Kishan, who told them that she was depressed because of her health.

“He said she was suffering from asthma along with other diseases and used to visit RML Hospital regularly. He said she was unable to pay for her treatment and was too weak to travel to the hospital daily,” a police officer said.
