100 buses from Rajasthan and Haryana to be diverted to Sarai Kale Khan from April 10
Officials said this is the first phase of the decongestion plan which involves shifting a total of 673 buses to Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan ISBTs from the Kashmere Gate terminal.
Buses coming from or headed to Rajasthan and parts of Haryana will not be able to use the inter-state bus terminal at Kashmere Gate from April 10.

To decongest the area around Kashmere Gate, the Delhi transport department had issued an order, diverting 100 buses of Rajasthan and Haryana Roadways to the ISBT in Sarai Kale Khan.
On February 28, HT had reported that the transport department had submitted a proposal suggesting that almost 36% load from the busy Kashmere Gate ISBT should be shifted to other stations.
In its latest order, the department said, “After careful consideration of the matter, it has been decided to take measures to decongest areas around ISBT Kashmere Gate. accordingly, it is hereby ordered that the inter-state buses of Rajasthan Roadways and Haryana Roadways entering Delhi from NH-8 side and terminating/originating from Delhi shall be operated from ISBT Sarai Kale Khan in place of ISBT Kashmere Gate.”
It further said that in addition to the 100 inter-state buses, any other inter-state stage carriage bus coming through NH-8 (Jaipur side) and terminating/originating from Delhi will also be shifted to Sarai Kale Khan ISBT. The rule will come into force from April 10.
Officials said this is the first phase of the decongestion plan which involves shifting a total of 673 buses to Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan ISBTs from the Kashmere Gate terminal.
The move comes a month after lieutenant governor Anil Baijal directed chief secretary MM Kutty to look into “rationalising” locations of bus depots for inter-state buses in the city. Following this, the traffic police had asked the transport department to chalk out a detailed plan.
