With 149 fresh infections reported on Friday, swine flu cases continued to surface in the country, mostly in the northern region.

"Altogether 149 fresh swine flu infections have been reported, taking the total number of positive cases to 11,656 in the country," an official with the Union Health Ministry said.
Delhi and Maharashtra continued to report the maximum cases even today. While 42 cases were reported from the national capital territory, there were 47 laboratory confirmed cases in Maharashtra. However, nobody died due to the disease today in the country.
While ten cases were reported from Haryana, Punjab registered two cases.
He said samples from 49,144 people have been tested for Influenza H1N1 in government laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country and 23.7 per cent of them have been found positive.
