15 properties at Sainik Farms to be razed

Several illegal properties at Sainik Farms may be sealed or demolished today. The MCD has planned to take action against them as part of its ongoing drive against unauthorised constructions.

The demolition work was to begin on Tuesday, but the building department of South Zone could not carry it out due to unavailability of police force.

“Several people have constructed buildings violating the building byelaws and without sanctioned plan. Some of them have also encroached upon government’s land,” said the official. At least 15 properties are on the radar and the MCD is carrying out a survey to identify more properties that need to be demolished.
