A 17-year-old was seriously injured when a low-floor DTC bus hit him on the BRT corridor in Ambedkar Nagar area on Tuesday evening.
A 17-year-old was seriously injured when a low-floor DTC bus hit him on the BRT corridor in Ambedkar Nagar area on Tuesday evening.

The accident took place around 6.30pm in Madangir in southeast Delhi. The non-AC bus on route number 419 was plying between Old Delhi railway station and Khanpur. Following the accident, angry eyewitnesses damaged the windows of the bus. They even tried to block the BRT stretch but the police swung into action immediately and prevented the public from disturbing the traffic flow.
Police said the victim, whose identity could not be established till late in the evening, was crossing the road with his friends when the accident occurred.
"Eyewitnesses said the teenager was crossing the road near Madangir Gali number 20 when the DTC bus headed towards Khanpur hit him in the middle of the road. The boy suffered serious injuries and some people rushed him to a private hospital," said a senior officer of Delhi police.
The police said efforts were being made to find the hospital where the victim was taken. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case.
