"The present case undoubtedly shows that the act committed by the convicts is very brutal and shows the depravity of the minds of the convicts," Additional Sessions Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar said, adding, however, that the case does not fall in the category of "rarest of rare" cases.

The court held the two Uttar Pradesh natives, Kuldeep Singh and Vishal Pal, guilty of murdering Manoj Shridhar, who was working as deputy manager of Kotak Mahindra Bank at its Nehru Place branch, and also imposed a fine of Rs 6,000 on each of the two convicts.

According to the prosecution, Singh, Vishal and his brother Vikas Pal - who is absconding and has been declared proclaimed offender - had attacked Shridhar on August 13, 2008 night, when he was returning to his home in Faridabad and murdered him after robbing him of his possessions, including cash, some documents and a bag.
