Public transport in Dwarka is all set to improve. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will deploy about 200 buses on various routes originating and terminating at Dwarka in April this year.

DTC chairman RKVerma said the upcoming bus depot at Dwarka is expected to start functioning in the 2-3 months. He added that the DTC has decided to put 200 buses in operation from the Dwarka depot.
“The buses will ply on pre-defined routes. Earlier we did not have the capacity to cater to the public transport needs of the people of Dwarka. Once the Dwarka depot starts functioning, bus service in Dwarka will also improve,” Verma said.
While the population of Dwarka has crossed seven lakh, Delhi metro is the only reliable public transport system available in the sub-city.
Residents said even metro caters to just a small part of Dwarka and several sectors like 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 are not even touched by metro feeder buses.
