24-yr-old man killed by employer for seeking due wages

The deceased, Tanveer (24), had gone to Inder Singh’s residence at 3/63 Nanhe Park along with his friend Mohit to take his due wages.

The incident occurred around 11.30am after a heated argument had broken out between the duo labourers and Singh when they asked for the money. The argument later turned ugly and the duo was beaten mercilessly by Singh and his family members, a senior police officer said.

While Tanveer died due to multiple injuries, Mohit somehow managed to save his life.

Enraged with the incident, several local residents tried to barge into the house of Singh to teach the family a hard lesson.

However, they were stopped by the policemen, who had already reached there after receiving a call about Tanvir’s death.

Deputy commissioner of police (southwest) AK Ojha said they have registered two separate cases — of murder and rioting — in relation to the incident.
